Sifnos Faces

I have initiated a project that started in July 2018, portraying figures from Sifnos, the Cycladic island where I spend part of my time each summer with my family.

The aim was to make a series of images of those people who are from the island, known by everyone on the island, and have spent most of their lives on it. A kind of photography of a moment that will remain to keep a memory.

My love for the island got me to imagine this project as a tribute to its inhabitants who are warmly welcoming us each year.

Visages de Sifnos

J’ai monté un projet qui a débuté en juillet 2018, représentant des personnages de Sifnos, l’île des Cyclades où je passe une partie de mon temps chaque été avec ma famille.

Le but était de faire une série d’images de ces gens qui sont originaires de l’île, connus de tous sur l’île et qui y ont passé la majeure partie de leur vie.

Une sorte de photographie d’un moment qui restera.

Mon amour pour l’île m’a amené à imaginer ce projet comme un hommage à ses habitants qui nous accueillent chaleureusement chaque année.

Πρόσωπα της Σίφνου

Έχω ξεκινήσει ένα έργο που ξεκίνησε τον Ιούλιο του 2018, όπου απεικονίζω φιγούρες από τη Σίφνο, το νησί των Κυκλάδων, όπου περνάω μέρος του χρόνου μου κάθε καλοκαίρι με την οικογένειά μου.

Ο στόχος ήταν να φτιάξουμε μια σειρά από εικόνες εκείνων των ανθρώπων που είναι από το νησί, γνωστοί από όλους στο νησί, και έχουν περάσει το μεγαλύτερο μέρος της ζωής τους σε αυτό. Ένα είδος φωτογραφίας μιας στιγμής που θα παραμείνει για να κρατήσει μια μνήμη.

Η αγάπη μου για το νησί με έκανε να φανταστώ αυτό το έργο ως αφιέρωμα στους κατοίκους του που μας καλωσορίζουν κάθε χρόνο.
